The Furniture
and Decoration department is a four-year course with the aim
of raising teachers and designers geared towards the
contemporary furniture engineering, design profession,
interior design and the furniture industry. The graduates have
experienced a program, beginning with the teaching of
essential furniture designing, engineering and making skills,
which have been developed throughout the four-year course,
ending with a major self-generated furniture project each
year. The department produces capable and creative furniture
teachers with good technical knowledge and professional
understanding.
The department is divided in three areas of “Furniture
Education,
FE”, “Decoration Education, DE” and “Material Education, ME”.
The department has large academic staff, a laboratory of
computer, and wood finishing, a mechanical test laboratory,
and five workshops for different applications, and four design
studios. The theoretic and applied education is carried out in
design studios, laboratories and workshops.
